For your convenience, Kootenai Animal Hospital maintains a fully stocked pharmacy. This allows us to fill most prescriptions at the time of your visit. Drugs such as oxyglobin (a new oxygen-carrying blood substitute) are available for blood loss related emergencies. We also maintain a supply of fomepazole, an antidote for antifreeze poisoning. If administered within the first 8 - 12 hours of poisoning, fomepazole provides excellent recovery from this otherwise fatal toxin. These and other cutting edge pharmaceuticals afford us the flexibility of providing the optimal treatment for your furry family members.
